Custom Tuning/Dyno Tuning :
So, you are looking to get your car “tuned”? There are a few things to consider. It might seem like a simple decision, but you must first decide if you need a dyno tune or if a mail order type tune is going to work for you. If you have a simple combination with well-known parts, an email tune from a reputable tuner experienced with your exact combination of parts might be OK. When you start adding parts, especially if you want something a little different, or you just want to make sure that your tune is “correct” for your combination and you are getting everything out of it you can, it might be time to step up to an in-house dyno tune. We can also make more personal adjustments for things like the shift schedule in the transmission that are a little more “personal preference” then right vs wrong. The dyno allows the tuner to get data on your vehicle specifically, and instead of relying on the computer to adjust itself, the tuner can read those errors and correct them in the base calibration. While some try to do this on the street, the dyno does offer some advantages. First, we can focus our attention to gauges and data instead of trying to avoid traffic. This is much safer and a much more efficient means of acquiring data. If we find a drivability issue, it is MUCH easier to duplicate it on the dyno rather than being a menace to traffic. Then, when we get to wide open throttle tuning, along with the data, we can measure the exact results of our changes. For example, EXACTLY how much power was that one degree of timing worth? Did it help down low or just up top? This allows us to fine tune every aspect of your powerband. We can also work with transitions from part pedal to WOT giving you the best blend of daily driver without sacrificing the power you would expect from a race car. Once this process is complete, we will take the car out on the street to verify everything that we did on the dyno behaves as it should on the street. Here at 210 Performance, we have been doing dyno tunes in house for literally decades, and we know how to extract every last horsepower out of your combination safely and efficiently.
